"[A] book ... unlike a television program, moving picture or any other 'modern means of communication' ... can wait for years, yet be available at any moment when it happens to be needed."

—Joseph Wood Krutch (1893-1970) American critic, natrualist, writer, The Modern Temper

Your Library Director Judy Whitaker Welcomes You

Welcome to the Olney Public Library's website!

As Director, my role is to see that our patrons and
guests receive the best library services possible from our staff.  We strive to make a visit to our library a pleasant and rewarding experience.

The library's website aims to provide the residents of Olney and surrounding area with useful library information, services, activities and links to other resources to assist you in your research and recreational needs.  We offer a variety of fun and innovative programming for children and adults throughout the year.

I encourage you to visit our library, meet the staff, use our computers with free internet access, check our materials and participate in current library activities.

Part of our ongoing improvement process includes reviewing feedback from our patrons.  I, therefore, value your opinions and suggestions concerning our services and collection.

Please fee free to contact me if I may be of help to you.  We are here to serve you!
